Season 2 Premier - The He & She Show at the LA Travel Show
Doug and Teresa Wyckoff take you with them to the largest travel show in North America with mini-interviews with some of the most interesting people they met.
Have you heard of the country Azerbaijan? Well, Teresa is ashamed to say she hadn’t heard of it until the Travel show…and now she is planning their trip. Asiman Mamedou gives us all the scoop on their magical country, which stands in the crossroads of Turkey, Russia, Iran, Armenia and along the Caspian Sea.
Want to visit Azerbaijan? You can find out tons of information in the mini-interview and online you can read about the history, nightlife, beaches and plan your trip here: http://azerbaijan.travel
We also speak to Jake McCormick from Shadows of Africa, who gives valuable details about photographic safaris of Tanzania and other African countries, a gripping conversation starts about conservation with an interesting similarity between the industry of “hunting” domesticated exotic animals and tinder. He also shares his personal story about how he went from restaurants to safari tours. It’s a great conversation and I know you’ll love it. We can’t wait to someday take a safari ourselves!

When we were at the travel show, we saw a talk with John Gates, the star of Expedition Unknown.
Some things we took away from his speech: Comfort will kill you. Adventure is good for your brain, and create new neural pathways Your trip will stay longer if you do something outside your comfort zone. Run toward danger & surprise. Do something that scares the hell out of you.
Adventure Aide is a great way to add adventure to wherever your travel takes you, even a weekend.
Another great way to inject adventure into your travel is with another company we are excited about that we met at the travel show….
Altai is a French company they are a tour operator and destination network that specialized in adventure travel and active holidays. We have a great conversation with Benjamin about what makes his company different but what I loved was the locations were outside the ordinary for most Americans, they were adventure based trips and were crazy affordable which makes them accessible to anyone. We’re already planning to take an adventure with them to Oman or Everest Base Camp.
